2 to 4 C leftover cooked rice from dinner

1 T butter or margarine

2 eggs

2 C (or more) milk

1/2 C sugar

1 tsp cinnamon

Large pinch of nutmeg

1 tsp almond extract

Raisins, if desired

Leave leftover rice out at night, covered tightly, not in refrigerator, in heavy, medium size pot. Melt butter on medium heat. Add eggs and milk. Whisk well. Put lid on tightly and let mixture simmer on medium-low heat for approximately 3 to 5 minutes. Meanwhile, sprinkle cinnamon and nutmeg onto rice and stir in well. When milk is steaming inside pot, add rice. Stir in extract just before serving. Add more sugar or milk to taste.

Add desired amount of raisins to pot when milk is steaming.

Recently my family got together for dinner. While the adults were busy in conversation, my grandchildren were playing dress up in the bedroom. I had laid out some of Aaron’s Online Boutique dress up clothes for my granddaughters and grandson to play with. They were entertained all evening and had a wonderful time together.

My 2 year old granddaughter came to me and stood in front of me to show how pretty she looked in her Snow White costume. The two 3 year olds girls kept telling me they were “Princesses’ in their Sleeping Beauty and Rapunzel costumes.

With armor on and sword in hand, my grandson played the knight in shining armor. At one point the sword ended up in my granddaughters hand which she found entertaining as well. (don’t worry, it is perfectly harmless)

With seven grandchildren in a small area, we definitely appreciated the fact they had so much fun with the dress up clothes. It was for a fun night for everyone.

I went to my msn hotmail account this morning and saw the above title. It immediately intrigued me. After reading the article “Love Lessons from Dogs? by Chelsea Kaplan, I got out my fancy onion skin paper and made 5 copies of the article. One copy for me and one copy for each of my four married children. I plan on rolling it up, tying it with ribbon and giving it to them and their spouses for Valentine’s Day. (I will also make some chocolate treats to go with it)

I loved the article because it made sense. I am a dog lover, which everyone knows, so I could relate to the various relative points. We all need fresh new tips from time to time on improving our romantic relationships. It is an area of our lives that is well worth the effort and when we truly love someone, we will make it a priority.
